Marty Stalker on his DP role on coast...

The ‘Coast’ Shoot
I’ve been harping on about collaborating for most of the year now and it was great to see Alan Stewart and Chris McClenaghan take up my advice as they slowly began gathering a creative team together for their ‘Coast’ production. I have total respect for anybody who gets out and lives the dream and you’ll be surprised by the amount of people who sit on good scripts and never attempt to get them filmed. Finding other creatives in different departments who share your passion and who are willing to give up their free time is difficult too. But the lads managed to do it and I salute them for it!

What a roller coaster few weeks since the first shoot, we have captured some truly beautiful cinema with an inspiring cast and crew who all threw in so much; including 16 hour day shoots, with little break to produce the stuff we have gracing our editing suite. We are so touched to see so many people get behind our pilot and were certain that it will grow to be a big success.

The first Shoot is always the deepest.

Marty Stalker on the set, bringing it HD.

Coast Filming, Day one.
Saturday came early, 7am Lindsay and I were up and ready, creating the mountain of ham baps for the production staff, Alan Stewart the co Director was on his way to Whitehead with his shot list in hand along with Marty Stalker our D.P. who had his prized Carl Zeiss CP’s tucked away like little babies for the days shoot. The girls were the first to arrive (as girls normally do) and began to get make up which was provided by our very talented MUA Rebecca Bryson. She brought a mountain of products and began work with her assistant snapping away on some BTS shots. The rest of the guys arrived in one bunch and soon the meeting point was electric with lots of really good craic. It was the first time we all were together and the whole team seemed to get on like a high school reunion.
